Solid surface is easy to care for and unlike natural stone, requires no sealing or upkeep. General care information is included with the Care Kit that we provide with all installations. Superior Surfaces can provide professional refinishing if necessary.
 

Easy Countertop Care

Keep your countertops looking great with soapy water or an ammonia-based cleaner. Dirt and residue can be removed the same way. Windex and 409, or similar non-abrasive cleaners are suggested. Rinse and wipe dry.

Due to the non-porous feature of your tops, the use of polishes will leave a residue and a splotchy finish. Do not use abrasive cleansers or abrasive pads with your countertops.

Prevent hard water marks by wiping surfaces dry after spills or cleaning. Ordinary vinegar removes most dried water spots.

Disinfect by wiping surfaces with mixture of one part water/one part household bleach. Rinse with clear water and wipe dry.

Clean sinks and lavatories the same way you clean your countertop. You should only use Soft Scrub liquid cleanser or white or gray Scotch-Brite pads for stubborn stains. Rub over the entire sink to blend in the finish. Never use strong acidic products as toilet or oven cleaners.

Countertop Cautions

Heat: Use trivets or hot pads under hot objects. Prolonged or extreme heat can cause discoloring. Also, allow cookware to cool before placing in a solid-surface sink.

Always run your faucet while pouring boiling water down solid surface sinks

Strong Chemicals: Do not expose your countertop to strong chemicals, such as paint removers, oven cleaners, etc. If contact does occur, rinse immediately and thoroughly with clear water.

If you spill nail polish on a Solid Surface, remove it with non-acetone polish remover.

Common Sense: Do not cut directly on Solid Surfaces. Use the cutting board(s) provided. Use placemats or coasters for rough bottomed stoneware.

Remove Cuts and Scratches: Your retailer can provide professional refinishing. A nominal charge is required for this service.
